Black Starlets goalkeeper Shaibu Rafique Issah was in sublime form as Adiembra Senior High School put two goals past Methodist Senior High School to lift the SEKONDI Zone Senior High School Competition.
The victory means Shaibu Rafique Issah has ensured Adiembra SHS lift the trophy for a second time in the last two campaigns for which he’s been the goalkeeper.
Shaibu Rafique Issah stopped two penalties after their opening game against Daboase Senior High Technical School ended goalless. They went on to win 4-2 on penalties.
He also masterminded a 4-1 Win against Diabene Senior High Technical School which was the only game he conceded in.
The result followed a 2-0 win in the final group game against Methodist Senior High School and a 5-0 emphatic thumping of Sekondi College in the semifinals of the competition.
In the final, it was a golden display that saw Shaibu Rafique garnered applause with some acrobatic saves to ensure their two goals lead remain intact.
Shaibu Rafique Issah keeps growing in confidence, ball distribution, and other departments of the game.
He has since helped Ghana’s U-17 secure bronze in the West Africa Football Union Zone B U-17 Tournament at the Cape Coast Stadium and moved from Sekondi Hasaacas FC, Nania FC to Montreal FC all geared towards his improvement.
Shaibu Rafique Issah is urging closer to his 16th birthday which falls on June 15, 2023.
