The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Hon. Dorcas Afo-Toffey donates 100 dual desks to Nana Avo Nweah M/A Basic schools in her constituency.
The donation done last Friday, August 27, 2021 which as she describes is part of efforts to contribute to the quality of teaching and learning in the constituency.
She has pledged to do everything within her power to help her constituency with the resources available and to also construct a 6-units classroom block for Nana Avo Nweah M/A Basic since the school lacks befitting classrooms.
In the interim, the NDC MP when addressing the gathering pronounced to provide ‘1 teacher, 1 laptop’ to all the teaching staffs of Nana Avo Nweah school located at Forest Junction community, a suburb of Tikobo No-2 in the Jomoro municipal of the Western Region.
Speaking on behalf of the school, the Headteacher of Nana Avo Nweah Basic School, Mr Cletus Azupe appraised the Member of Parliament for her good works in the constituency.
Mr Cletus Azupe in his address said “challenge of inadequate furniture has been one of the major impediments hindering effective academy work in the school, and, I thank God so much for giving us such a kindhearted and a concerned MP who has come to our aid in addressing that challenge”
“The donation will go a long way to bring solutions to the canker of inadequate furniture syndrome in the school.
“The supply of this furniture has just opened the door for better and greater achievement in the school” the headmaster said.
The chief of Tikobo No-2 Nana Avo Nweah, urged the parents to support the teaching staffs in a way of motivating them since the school is located in a deprived area.
“The PTA of the school has a pivotal role in improving academics for their wards, hence, they should count as a responsibility in developing the school especially, in the area of assisting the construction of infrastructure for the school and provide food items for the teachers as well” the chief pointed.
