Akwasi Bobbie Ansah, a former player in the Ghana Premier League, believes that the current players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC deserve more time to prove themselves. The ex-Kotoko player advocates for the club to allow the players an opportunity to showcase their abilities under the guidance of their new manager, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.
“He (Ogum) understands the immense pressure, so he doesn’t need to be instructed on what to do. The players require another chance to continue their development,” Ansah stated during an interview with Kessben FM.
He further emphasized that some of the players are still relatively new to the team, being in their first or second season, and they have now come to appreciate the pressure that comes with playing for a club like Kotoko. Therefore, Ansah urges the club to provide them with the chance to continue their progress.
In the previous season, Kotoko couldn’t secure a trophy and couldn’t defend the league title they won under their returning head coach, Ogum, in the season before.
