Italian Serie A champions Napoli close to signing Austrian-Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso this summer

Napoli, the reigning champions of the Italian Serie A, are nearing the signing of Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso from the French Ligue 1 team RC Lens

Having lost South Korean international Kim Min-Jae, who moved to Bayern Munich this summer, Napoli is actively seeking a solid and high-quality defender to fill the void. According to Footmercato, Napoli has been in contact with Kevin Danso, an Austrian international of Ghanaian descent, and they have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the player.

The only remaining step is to finalize the agreement between the two clubs to complete the transfer.

Although Napoli’s initial offer of 22 million Euros was turned down by RC Lens, who is demanding a higher sum of not less than 30 million Euros for the highly sought-after defender, Napoli remains determined to secure Danso’s services.

Napoli sees Kevin Danso as the ideal center-back in Europe, possessing the right credentials to step into Kim Min-Jae’s position ahead of the upcoming season.

Danso had an impressive season with RC Lens last year, helping them secure a second-place finish in the French Ligue 1 table. In 34 appearances for his team, he contributed with one goal and two assists.

RC Lens will be competing in the upcoming Champions League, making Danso’s departure a significant loss for the club.
