Sarkodie addresses Yvonne Nelson’s accusations in his latest track called ‘Try Me’

Sarkodie I am not Yvonne Nelson Try Me

Ghana’s iconic rapper, Sarkodie, has dropped a new song in response to the recent controversy involving his supposed relationship with actress Yvonne Nelson. In her memoir titled “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” which was published on June 18, 2023, the actress accused the rapper of coercing her into having an abortion.

In his three-minute and sixteen-second song titled “Try Me,” Sarkodie refutes the allegations and denies encouraging the abortion, insisting that it was Nelson’s decision. He used Akan Twi, Pidgin, and English in the song to explain that he wasn’t ready for a child, but he didn’t push for the termination.

Sarkodie went on to claim that Nelson was the one engaging in promiscuous acts and that it was her idea to have the child aborted since she was in school. To illustrate his point, the lyric video of “Try Me” shows a female astronaut descending from space, which may be a representation of Nelson’s declining career.

While he initially considered keeping the matter to himself, Sarkodie decided to respond after feeling that Nelson was misrepresenting the truth. It remains to be seen how Nelson will react to “Try Me” and Sarkodie’s retort to her accusations.|
