Andrew Egyapa Mercer, the Member of Parliament for the Sekondi Constituency, announced on Friday, July 7, that the construction of the PTC Interchange will be finished before 2024.

However, the construction of the interchange had been halted due to resource constraints, leading to approximately 300 workers being laid off, as reported by Empire FM in January 2023.

The funding for the three-tier interchange is being provided through the Master Project Support Agreement between Ghana and the Chinese government, with the Synohydro Corporation overseeing the project.

Initially, the construction was expected to be completed by July 2023. However, due to the operational setback, with the project being approximately 80 percent completed, it will now be delayed and pushed to a later date.

The Member of the Special Budget Committee of the Akufo-Addo’s led government disclosed operations will resume and the construction will finish before 2024 elapses.
