Entrepreneur and musician, Nhyiraba Kojo, recently shared his perspective on his two-week incarceration, asserting that he believes the lives of prisoners had improved during his time there.

The incident leading to his imprisonment stemmed from a court case filed by residents of Fijai against his NK City Night Club in Takoradi, citing noise pollution.

On April 28, 2023, the popular Hiplife artist and nightclub owner was found guilty of contempt of court by the Sekondi Commercial High Court and sentenced to serve 30 days unless he could rectify the contemptuous act.

However, in a conversation with ZionFelix, Nhyiraba Kojo revealed that he was released earlier than expected upon demonstrating compliance with the court’s order to address the noise pollution issue.

During his interview, Nhyiraba Kojo explained the origins of the problem that eventually led to the court case. He further revealed that his time behind bars had offered him a unique perspective, believing it to be a blessing for the incarcerated individuals he encountered.

One significant challenge he observed during his stay was the scarcity of water in the prison. The musician highlighted that prisoners sometimes had to purchase “pure water” for bathing purposes.

In response to this predicament, Nhyiraba Kojo took it upon himself to provide a source of water for the inmates, a gesture that was appreciated and commended by the prison administration.

Nhyiraba Kojo’s experience not only shed light on the circumstances surrounding his imprisonment but also offered insight into the living conditions and challenges faced by inmates during his time spent in jail.

His assertion that the prisoners’ lives had improved as a result of his brief incarceration raises questions about the state of correctional facilities and the well-being of those within.
