Famous Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame, recently shared his worries about the struggling economy and the widespread problem of joblessness. These challenges have led many citizens to look for opportunities overseas.
He pointed out the high unemployment rate in the country, especially for recent graduates who face difficulties in finding jobs after finishing their education.
According to him, this situation is a major factor motivating people to move abroad in hopes of finding better prospects.
The musician also mentioned that some of the responsibility lies with Ghanaians themselves. He noted a strong preference for office-based jobs, which are limited in the country.
He stressed that many are hesitant to explore technical and vocational careers that can provide more immediate opportunities right here in Ghana.
“I feel there is hardship in the country. They don’t have a choice, where would they work? So I feel that we’ve faltered somewhere.”
