Dormaa East: Six arrested for illegal mining

Six illegal mining operators have been arrested in a joint security operation by the Dormaa East District Police Command, NADMO, the Nationwide Investigation Bureau (NIB), and some assembly members led by the district chief govt, Emmanuel Kofi Agyemang.

Ultimate 12 months, the Dormaa East District Assembly launched “Operation End Galamsey Now,” by which 14 illegal miners have been arrested.

Two of them have so far been sentenced to serve quite a few phrases of imprisonment, consistent with the Dormaa East district chief govt, Emmanuel Kofi Agyeman.

The latest operation seen six suspected illegal miners arrested in a joint security swoop in two communities all through the Dormaa East District: Dormaa Akwamu and Atta-Obey. Among the many instruments seized on the 2 web sites have been primarily shovels, pickaxes, and mattocks.
