We are dying of hunger – NABCo trainees to Gov’t

NABCo

The Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCo) Trainees Association of Ghana has urged the government to settle the allowance arrears owing to its members.

The trainees, who have not been paid their allowances in the previous few months, worry they may not live to see the country’s economy recover.

According to a statement made by the group on Monday, May 23, 2022, “they have been thrown into a point of no hope as the administration has turned deaf ears to the pressing concerns.”

Recent developments, according to the group, do not represent the government’s vow to invest in youth through job creation.

“We are asking the government a simple question: although we have been informed of the impending arrears/permanent agreement, how long will it last?” The statement went on.

“We are dying of hunger and may not survive to see the economy recover,” it said, “due to non-payment of seven (7) months arrears.”
